![]() ![]() I think you shouldn’t have a problem with going back into it with a tank-brush as long as you don’t wait too long. I figured I wouldn’t see that good a deal again & decided to splurge. I waited until there was a sale at my favorite online store here in the states where I had gotten something like $10 off of the sets & nabbed both. I think I may go back into that & do a little more to it. And I think that one area of the ‘light” area, I had gotten it a little darker than I had planned & used a little white ink over it to try to lighten it a little. That probably gives it the odd perspective. The reference photo was taken at an odd angle, & very cropped. £45 for 12 tiny bottle is a lot to me – i don t want to drop the pounds and find they’re not what I’d like to use. How do they respond to a droplet into a wet and a very wet patch – does it flood into the water or does it try to stay “itself” (leaving ink and water in the same water-drop-patch)? How fast do they dry – do you have time to dip pen a few lines then wash them with a tank-brush? Is there any movement with water once they are dry? I’ve been thinking of buying those ink – but they’re far from cheap. The light looks a little odd to me… but that might be perceptive rather than real – it looks out of perspective, too rounded. I LIKE this – beautiful shading in the red. Usually I have used a pen in the past to detail certain areas of a acrylic or watercolor painting, and this is the first time I’ve used india ink for the entire piece. No, I had not used a pen for this one, just three brushes. On the other hand, if you make a mistake & don’t do something right away (by removing most/all the color by soaking up with a paper towel or adding a little water first & then soaking it up), you have to figure a way “fix” it. I think I may prefer this in some ways for that reason. The colors mix well together for making another color too. How I used them, yes, I did add varying amounts of water & it does react like watercolor EXCEPT that when it dries, it stays dry unlike watercolor. I used Dr Ph Martin india inks – they have a nice variety of colors. ![]()
